Ed is an award winning photographer with an artistry for conveying nuances of connection throughout his environment and people focused photography.

As a former professional athlete it is natural for Ed to work across a broad comfort zone of environments when photographing remote landscapes and a wide breadth of adventure based photo-stories and commercial work. However, Ed's photography regularly encompasses deeper meaning, particularly in conveying environmental connection, encouraging gender equality and promoting inclusion within the outdoors.

Ed’s work has been a selected winner and shortlisted in numerous photographic awards; most recently as a finalist in the 2023 AOP awards and 2nd place in the 2023 Independent Photographer Landscape Award. A regular contributor to UK outdoor publications Ed has also been widely published in the broader media; from UK papers and supplements such as The Guardian and The Sunday Times Magazine, to numerous international titles.

In recent years Ed has printed a series of his landscape photographs as limited edition signed prints, displaying a mastery of his art which has propelled his work towards collectability. In particular, desirable pieces such as Ed’s mountain top Aurora image ‘Concert of light’ epitomise Ed’s approach to seeking out exceptional connections via immersive days and nights in remote wilderness regions.

At the time of writing, Ed is approaching his 10th anniversary working alongside the Army Benevolent Fund, for whom he produces work as a freelance documentary photographer. In fulfilling this work for the ABF with his relentless energy and commitment, Ed has covered over 1,500km on foot with his camera.

Living in the Highlands of Scotland Ed is based out of his gallery, Eleven41, in Kingussie. In his spare time he gets stuck into his own adventures whether that be by kayak, bike, ski, climb or run. But he is rarely spotted without his camera, which accompanies him all over the globe to capture connections with people and place.

Ed’s first book ‘Northern Cairngorms’ imparts his unique perspective of living amongst and photographing the unique and immersive northern region of the Cairngorms National Park.
