Studio Portraits

Next month I’ll have a studio facility just up the road from where I’ve been based for the last couple of years, which is a hugely exciting development. Besides doing both studio and location portraiture, I’m still keeping busy on the hill with a ski touring shoot fast approaching, and plans developing around documenting the visit of Tshiring Sherpa on his visit to Scotland in the summer. So it’s all systems go!

The first person photographed using the new Bowens lighting kit was drummer Chris Whitehouse, who will be using a series of strong images to promote his skills. It was a long shoot, to give Chris a variety of images for different roles, but one of my favourite images (below) was a moodier shot, using two snoots either side of Chris to give some dramatic and focused lighting.
